“I have always been attracted to barns and fishing shacks. Although often in very poor shape, I find myself wondering what they looked like and how they blended into the landscape when they had just been built. I also find myself awed when I stumble upon one still standing in an open landscape. I embarked on a project of renewing these structures in an architectural sense and placed them in a pure, clutter-free environment. Origins was inspired by a milk farm in Quebec which I see when I take the back roads into Montreal from the Vermont border. I think we all take for granted the hard work that goes into supplying the masses with our daily needs. When I make our morning latte, I think of this Milk Farm and the some 400 cows and family that tends to them.
